34 posts in 584 days Location: Rocky Mount, VA I'm relatively new to woodworking, been doing it seriously for about 3 years now. What started as a need for home furniture has turned into somewhat of a passion (maybe an obsession). I work for a large hospital system as a biomedical equipment technician working with a team of about 14 other technicians taking care of thousands of pieces of medical equipment. I'd rather just be in the shop! As you can see from my profile picture, my other passions are outdoor activities. I was trained by the Air Force back in 1968 -69 to be a biomedical equipment repair technician and spent most of my service time at MacDill AFB. It was a great opportunity for me and steered me to a degree in dentistry. I always loved woodworking and worked toward having a good shop and accumulating tools. What was first basically a way to build the things we needed/wanted and couldn’t afford has become more of a creative outlet and I really enjoy it. This site is a good way to get ideas for projects and display your creative output. Turning has always been something I liked to do and found very enjoyable. The bowls make great gifts that are appreciated by most who receive them.
