It just occurred to me that it was just a year ago that I broke my ankle and was in forced exile from the garage/shop. It has been a good year; lots of projects and sawdust production. I made some new woodworking friends, tried some new techniques, got more comfortable with my midi-lathe. The snow is swirling outside, and I got the snow blower out for the first time a couple of days ago…that’s what reminded me of the ankle break. I had just finished clearing the driveway when I slipped, went down, and heard it snap. I think the past year has made me appreciate how fortunate I am to be able to pursue my hobbies and that people appreciate my work. I can produce at my own pace and pick and choose what I want to make…. What more could a guy want?
I want to wish all the LJ community a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with new tools and sawdust.

Good that the broken ankle didn’t stop you from your woodworking. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you to.
