Well, you have to be pretty determined or a little nutsy to work in an unheated garage workshop today. We started this morning at -5 F, and it got up to about 12 above. Tonight, we venture into really cold temps…..-20 with a good stiff wind. I was out in the shop for a little while a couple of times today and stayed until my hands were getting stiff. Then back to the coffeepot.

I have a friend who used to live in MN. He came to Colorado for a few days one winter wearing his short-sleeve shirt, Bermuda shorts and sandals. Temperature was about 25 F. He said, “Heck, this is like Spring weather to me!”

At this point id take the cold … here’s our winter in Connecticut run down:

Christmas – Blizzard – 14” of snow
January – Week 1 – 6” of snow
Last Tuesday – 23” of snow
This Tuesday – 4” of snow , 1/4” of ice
Tomorrow – 5” – 10” of snow
Gutters : Full of Ice
Driveway: Slicker than whale sh%*
Arms and Back: Rather sore (and so it my attitude about this winter)

I’ve seen enough all ready .. what do we need to offer to mother nature for some repreive?

I’ve been in my shop all day barefoot and only in shorts and a T shirt. Terrible weather we are having here. It only got up to 71 degrees today. Can’t wait for a nice 110 degree day.

I hear ya JB, lets see today it was around 20 outside and shop wasn’t much warmer, that cold you speak off is coming our way for the weekend. Todays shop outfit,...Union suit(long johns) long sleve T, Turtle neck T, insulated shirt, sweat shirt, insulated vest, insulated hooded sweat shirt, lined pants, winter socks, winter boots, winter hat and finally gloves with the fingers cut-off
Had a glue-up today and glue was in by the woodstove and project is now inside to fully cure.

Grew up in Virginia, Minnesota. My brother still lives in Ely, MN. It is 18 deg here in Anchorage, which has warmer winter weather than you guys, but a longer winter, and a cooler summer.

Have a good one, perhaps some insulation and a garage heater are in your future?

Yeah I know how the winters are up there, my brother in-law lives up there. I don’t know how much snow they have had yet. We got 9” here in Mo. yesterday.

Winter snow totals in CT … topping out at 58” for the season so far. A cool 28” over the average.

Even my snowblower is complaining.
