The poet….I can’t remember which one…..said, “April is the cruelest month”.....knew what he was talking about. It feels more like early March than late April. We had 29 degrees yesterday morning….and had a touch of snow on Thursday. We have had a few lovely, sunny, balmy days already, but this weather makes you forget about those. I am eager to get busy on the garden, put my boat in the water for some bluegill fishing, hit the links, etc. Instead, I am grumbling about cold mornings.
Two other noteworthy topics…..the hip replacement seems to have been a success… pain and it works better than the old one. My wife, Barbara, and I celebrated our 52nd anniversary on Kauai again…..two weeks of warm sun and relaxation. We even got in a couple of rounds of golf at Kokiolono, the little $10 track near Kalaheo.
I managed to renew connections with a couple of woodworker friends and bring back a little stash of curly koa. My recent post of man=trays is the result of my son’s new online business…..titanium wedding rings. One of his customers ordered 8 of the man-trays for groomsman gifts.
Best to all the Jocks and Jockettes…....

If memory serves…and it doesn’t always…T.S. Eliot did the, “April is the cruelest month,” quote.

Last night we had a terrific storm and downpour. Some of our gravel driveway washed out into the field. When it stops raining I’ll use the tractor and grader box to pull it back into place. Good day to have a Kabota tractor and a big helper.

I too got a new hip a couple of years ago, and it has given me my life back. No more pain and counting steps. I can walk again. Hope yours works as well as mine does. Nice that they are making new parts for old farts, and that our society provides an affordable way to pay for it.

Our globe is forever changing, and so are all of our “seasons” I feel we all need to do our part to save our planet, or it will eventually just be gone.
