This was great fun and we may do it again next year. The idea was to help improve technical skills associated with stair building and in particular, the formation of geometric handrail. The four-day seminar held in Martha’s Vineyard MA and hosted by South Mountain Co., focused on principles and methods devised and perfected in the mid-1800’s. By reacquiring these forgotten skills, ordinary stair carpenters and craftsmen can once again reproduce extraordinary stairs and balustrades. I know this is true since this is what I’ve been doing for quite a long time.

Good to keep that knowledge.
