I am a neo-wood worker from northwestern Virginia (Shenandoah Valley) and eager to learn.
I have some hand tools and some power tools......enough to "make" mistakes and start the learning curve. But I need MORE tools! LOL I am of the mind-set, 'use what you have' and that way I will soon find out what are true needs vs. wants.
I usually make what I "see." By that, I mean that I know what I want to make when I start out but I often let the wood guide me to where we end up. It usally ends up for the better that way.

Needs wants… I want and need more room, and tools… I mean come it is a simple calculation… More wood = more power & more tools… see simple… oh wait my other half is looking over my shoulder giving me the look… sorry you are on your own on this one…
