Hi, my name is Janice and I live in St Louis, Mo. I have been working with wood probably for the past 18 years. I wanted a sewing machine for X-mas, so I got one from my husband. But after seeing what my dad was doing with his scroll saw, I borrowed my father in law's and never really learned to sew. It was pretty much like using a sewing machine. So I started out with small crafts and then learned how to paint. Before I knew it I was making small furniture, then I built my bedroom set. We have a cabin on the river that I've been going to since I was a baby. My dad gave me the cabin a few years back and now my husband is building a room addition. A bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and a greatroom. I told my husband I wanted to build the kitchen cabinets and after alot of arguing I won. It was the most fun I've had working with wood. They turned out good enough for the river. It ends up sometimes costing alittle more, but I learn from my mistakes. Hey, it's a hobby. Still working full time. I am so much an ameature, alittle afraid to put pictures up after discovering this site and seeing what everyone else is doing. Going to the river, woodworking and painting is what I love to do!

Hi janice … I really enjoyed checking out your projects. I also love the country look. My hubby is a LJ; me I’m on GardenTenders; but so love to see what everyone is creating here. Just wanted to say Hi and let ya know that I really like your country style. :-)

Nice to meet you and thanks alot. I really like the primitve country look too. To bad I don’t really have the house for it. I kind of have a hodge pode of things going on. I like to garden too, but sometimes I just don’t have time to really take good care of them. I have alot of perenialls, not sure how to spell that, but you know what I mean. I work for a school so I’m off 6 weeks during the summer and spend alot of time at the cabin. Therefore, I have to rely on my husband watering my flowers. I usually come home and find something dead. I will have to check out GardenTenders and see your flowers. Thanks for writing.

Well if you get a chance to check out “my” flowers on GT … be sure to say HI …
I have seen some of my friends create really primative country looks in homes you wouldn’t think could handle the look. From the little I see, I think you definitely have the feel going on in your home. Anyway, nice to meet you as well and I look forward to seeing what else you create! :-)
