Part 1: vidoes, blogs and mentors

12-28-2012 07:18 PM by jacob34 | 4 comments »

I am sitting here honestly slightly bummed because I would love to be in my shop but my 4 year old and wife (who works nights) are sleeping and my shop happens to be directly below them. I am however thinking about a project that I have been fighting to get started and with other projects and well life getting in the way I have only built it in my head (probably look a lot better if it stays there). This project however has a few things new in it, as I am trying to implement new aspects in...

Part 2: small steps can sometimes carry you farther.

So I was finishing, literally finishing my last project and quite pleased with myself it was the first time I used a top coat or two step finishing of any kind. It wasn’t difficult and to be honest I asked advice before taking the plunge. But it opened my eyes up to a lot of possibilities that I was hesitant to even think about. 09-16-2013 04:11 PM by jacob34 | 4 comments »

So I have after two years of telling my wife I would start on a liquor cabinet, actually started it. Unfortunately well maybe inconveniently I also coach softball for my girls which has made it tough to finish before mentioned cabinet. I now have also volunteered on Thursdays and Fridays in my kindergarteners class for a few hours which happens to be my only two days off. On a side not the softball team is 3-1 and just put a 17-11 wooping on a team Sunday. So my thoughts of the morning are ...

Part 5: Maloof??

02-23-2014 03:53 AM by jacob34 | 4 comments »

I probably spelled that wrong, anyway so I am sitting here at work and thinking as I look through all the impressive projects that fellow lumberjocks have posted and a thought occurs. I have seen tables, chairs, boxes, jigs and probably stands for wigs, I have seen games and toys, push cars, rockers and rocking horses. I have seen bottle openers and bottle holders, cabinets, shelves and blanket chests I have even seen toilet roll holders. I have never seen a toilet seat though. I think pro...
