Sharpening - 6 replies I am considering buying some electric sharpening tools, you can see many of the tools I am looking at on E-bay. I would like to begin a sharpening service to sharpen tools for others for a fee. I have looked in the phone book in my area, and there only seems to be one company doing this. We live in a population area of approximately 300,000 with... |

Microwaved Wood - 6 replies In the latest issue of Fine Woodworking, page 19, there is an article on heat treating wood. I have a piece of maple that was given to me that I am waiting to turn into a box. It is such a beautiful piece of Maple that I hate to use it. I just admire it and think what a shame to cut into it. Router biscuit joiner attachment - 7 replies Has anyone ever used a biscuit joiner attachment fitted to your router. I can’t justify buying a dedicated biscuit joiner for around a $100.00 bucks for the little use it will get. I have a chance to buy a “Wood Pecker by Dimar” with the ability to use 3 sizes of biscuits, please let me know what you think. Jack |

Glue - 12 replies Just bought my first bottle of Gorilla Glue. I love the glue and the way it penetrates. I found the glue difficult to get out of the bottle, and quite time consuming. I have relatively strong hands but found it hard to squeeze. Is there a glue system that anyone has used to make this a more enjoyable chore?Jack |

Bandsaw Adjustment - 1 reply I bought a used bandsaw a few months back. I had used a friend’s bandsaw for resawing over the years, and wasn’t pleased with the results. The other night I decided to tackle it and familiarize myself with the workings of it because my experience to date was unpleasant to say the least. As most of you know to combat tracking off cent... |

Dust Collection - 3 replies Hi Everyone,I just purchased an old forced air furnace fan with motor for $30.00. My aim is to convert it to a dust collector, the motor is 2500 rpm’s and the fan is large, I don’t know how many cfm’s. My question, can it double as a vacuum if I close off both sides of the squirrel cage body and cut a 4” hole in the plyw... |
