Matchstick house

Not exactly woodworking but i was proud of myself. My wife told me about these little house so i had to give it a shot. Finally we found a website that laid everything out. Somewhere around 200 matchsticks per a house and some time as always that first is the hardest one. no glue just pressure from the match heads. It’s a pain in the neck but good exercise in dexterity.

The first picture is with stove matches and the other to are regular matches.

Here try it out for yourself http://www.englishrussia.com/?p=326

This project took a lot more work than i had intended. A 2×8 was used and cut into 3/8 strips and then glued together and put into a jig to curve the wood. i was surprised at how strong the strips are my niece and nephew use it for a bridge and their between 40 to 60 lbs a piece.
