I built my dream shop/garage in 2008 as a detached, heated garage. It’s 28’ wide and 22’ deep, keeping my car and some yard tools along with about a single-car bay for my toys. It works very well, and my lovely new wife has been supportive of recent tool acquisitions in exchange for some very nice furniture.

I love having heat in the winter, supplied by an electric heater that was discarded from a mechanical room at our local community college. Nothing like free. I ran the power underground to the table saw and outfeed table/assembly bench. My only oversight as a newbie was lack of dust collection, something I am now working on.

Hey kizerpea,

I couldn’t locate a dust collection forum here. Or is it just a general discussion somewhere? I found this site which has some pretty good tips: http://www.artofwoodshopdesign.com/dust-collection-mastery/

Thanks, all!

Todd
