I was thinking of doing a river table but don't have time to get that finished so have decided on a multi coloured look with the main timber Paperbark, the yellow timber Queensland Maple and the red timber in the centre Silky Oak.
A bit of work to do getting the breadboard ends fitted but it is going quite well so far.
I retrieved this timber from getting thrown out and have used it for the legs, it is just Merbau but will withstand some real outdoor punishment. The frame will just be pine again a freebie.
I am going with a Japanese style joint at the top of the leg and have roughly shaped the bottoms,
again with a Japanese influence.
My first attempt at bread board ends by hand. It was tougher than I thought and I would give one end a 9.5/10 and the other sadly an 8/10 but I can't fix it now it is together.
Putting it down to a learning experience and more skills and sharper tools needed.

Here is the table assembled where she will be living. It will be in the extremes of the Aussie weather so I am relying heavily on the Osmo UV Protection Oil to do it's thing.
It went together exactly how you would wish, joints tight enough that you needed a mallet to get them home and everything nice and square, phew.
Thanks for following, many firsts for me with this project. Very satisfying.
