Coffee table #1: Some pics of my daughters coffee table

Hi all, I was asked by daughter #2 to build a coffee table of her and her partners design. I had some Tasmanian Blackwood floating around in the shed which I thought would be nice for the frame and had some beautiful 1/4 sawn tasmanian Oak at the wood club that was free (old church pews) which I thought I could use for the top. Although the original intension was a live edge piece. This can be changed easily at a later time if she still wants the slab top. The Oak for the top, while beautiful timber, was too pale and pinky for the look of the Blackwood base so I thought I would experiment with some Black Japan.
