That was my last trip to Afghanistan. Health issues had me return to Alabama, never to return there again. That is not to say I won’t go somewhere, just not to a 3rd world country any more. I did make one find during my last trip. They have a fire pit in the embassy and the wood is brought in from local sources. I was standing over the pile and found a highly figured piece of something. I got it home and sliced off a piece. WOW, this is neat. I am making a knife out of it now. The pieces are small, so I have to be creative with the use. I’ll have it up on LJ’s projects soon.

Sounds good, Hunter. I just looked at all of your other projects. They are really nice and I’d like to see the knife when you add it.

Welcome home! It’s a shame what people will burn sometimes. Maybe not a huge issue that the figured pieces are small, there are A LOT of small parts you can make on those models, haha. Looking forward to seeing your knife!

Welcome back Hunter,

I am working my way through the proticol of lumberjocks and now hope I can talk with fellow toy makers, with skills such as yours. I have submitted my first toys for approval.
