Finally have my new dream shop built now. The inside is a blank canvas, but wont be for long. 27 years ago, my 1st shop was a 7’ x 11’ old smoke house. About 12 years ago we built the old shop which is a 15’ x 28’ which not only served as my wood shop but also everybody’s storage area. This shop was nothing special, but it has served us well, as we knew we would always build another shop along with a new house on the backside of the farm. The past 4 years, we have worked on the back side of the farm on clearing land, moving ALOOOOOOT of dirt, building Lake Roush, a new barn, a in ground greenhouse, Lake Yates is not finished yet, but Lake Roush behind the shop is and well stocked with fish. We have also finally finished our dream house and it was filmed in Oct 2015 for a show on HGTV. Last but not least, my dream wood shop. There is a 16’x 32’ storage building to house everything else that does not belong in our woodshop. Still have the sawmill shed to build, which has a large lumber storage room in it. We still have to install the wood stove to heat in the winter, but this shop also has AC!!! The blacksmith shed will be back behind the shop. This new shop has a 36” entry door, and 2 12’ chain drive roll up doors. Also has french drains installed before the concrete pad was poured, so water will never be a problem. Needless to say, we are very happy with the new shop and def blessed beyound belief.
I am really looking forward to working with my daughter in the shop and we have alot of projects to make together for the new house. The new shop is a 26’ x 40’ metal building that has the ceiling insulated. We will actually have room for assembily tables, a finishing room, and a nice work bench. I have been admiring alot of the LJs shop projects on here for a couple of years. Now we finally get to make some for our shop. So excited for this, and thankful to all the LJs for sharing their shop projects to help inspirer us and give us some ideas of what we will be satisfied with in the new Old Rednek Workshop.
