« Part 1: day 1 work in progress Part 2 of build log (mini pie safe (small pastery storage)) series Part 3: Day #3 finished project. »

Hi Mike , thankyou.

Today I finished gluing up the doors, gave them a good sanding and hung them.

I built the doors to have a 1/16” reveal on the top bottom and hinge side, however on the hinge side I didn’t mortise them into the frame or door, so that leaves around 1/4” gap, that needs to be filled in

, so I cut some 1/8” thick strips and glued them on the hinge side, to close the gap to make it look more appealing.

then worked on a drawer for the bottom section

finally took a piece of 3/4” thick plywood, to make a top for the cabinet.

Next I have the shelves to do, as well as some wooden pulls and latches for the doors and drawer, then begin the punched aluminum panels.

Have a great day.

Looks great. I’m looking forward to see the punched panels. I like the way you did the top too, a little thick, which I think gives it a nice balance.

Thanks Mike,

I didn’t get anything done on it today, I have another project for a client to do, which should take it through the weekend, I’ll probably get back on this, some time next week.

Have a nice weekend.

Have your say...
