I'm s Systems Engineer for a large local (SD) government contractor, degreed electrical engineer from the University of Iowa (GO HAWKS!!)
My first woodworking experience was junior high shop back in Iowa in the '60s, then a high school class as well. Moving to CA in '83, I bought a Dewalt Radial arm saw that allowed me to get the urge to work wood again. I donated that saw to the local theatre group and replaced it with a Delta 10" tilting arbor saw which I am still using today. Of course my tool collection has expanded over the years. I will list in the workshop section.
I tend towards smaller projects, jewelry boxes, wall hanging clocks etc. I have thoughts of some larger items in the next few years. I have a manodlin kit aging in the shop that needs to be completed
In 2006 I enrolled in CFT100 at Palamor College where I became a student of Phildo92027, who has become a friend and mentor. Also met MyronW there as well as several others who have become friends, woodworking and otherwise. Knowing Phildo has caused my tool collection to expand greatly with useful devices, and Phils recommendattons really helps with the spousal approval process. Thanks Phil! I am hoping to get enrolled in the guitar making class at Palomar this fall.
In my other spare time, I am active in our church choir, singing tenor, and in the past have done some considerable bicycling to get the weight down. That pastime is high on my list of things to do again this year. I also play the guitar (although very little anymore).
Married, great wife, 4 kids, mostly good.
Thats pretty much me
Jeff

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless
