-- If I cut it too short I can scab a piece on, but if it's too long what do I do?

I hope you like the unisaw as much as I do. I would not trade mine 5hp unisaw for anything.

Woodmaster I love my 3hp Unisaw it’s a joy to use.

Nice shop, I also have a Unisaw but I paid $400.00 for it and then I rebuilt it.
Look at my shop, you can it and I also have a blog about it.

Thanks Jim and Bert, Bert I read your Unisaw thread very nice restore project. I have a Ridgid table saw also I keep it for those times when I need two set ups to save time, the Ridgid is a great saw I had a wind fall tax return and I always wanted a new Unisaw.
