I started working on a new slab recently from the same tree as the rectangular coffee table that I posted earlier. except this one is 6’ long and about the same dimensions in width
Because of the checks and splits and many worm holes throughout this slab, that actually go through from top to bottom of slab , even the sides, I found this out while sanding and then blowing off the dust ,that plumes of sanding dust was shooting out from all directions .

I’m trying a technique of taping the whole underside and sides of this slab to control the pour . I guess I’ll see how it turns out
