I rent what is affectionately known as a "Vancouver-special" house in the east residential side of the city. These homes had intercom/cassette player systems installed throughout the home and this one in the kitchen (which doesn't work of course) has always been an eyesore so I whipped together some leftover walnut and plywood and made this bbq utensil/spice stand and hung it on a sturdy French cleat. Voila! No big hole in the wall to fill and no more ugly intercom. Fun project.!
