So I have been turning bowls for a while, and have become quite competent at this. However a while back I had a bowl that kept breaking, and every time I would have to put it on the lathe and return the mortise for the chuck, as when I fixed it, it would be out of round. eventually I ended up with a mortise bigger than my chuck, so I put the project away, However in this video I attempt to revamp the project, but it just broke again.

All part of the learning curve, tool rest is too far away from work, think about getting an S shaped tool rest?
Those fine particles of dust are actually not good to breath in? Perhaps think about a face shield but at least
use some safety glasses! I know you are young put one mistake now will be with you for the rest of your hopefully long life.
