Not to put too fine a point on it, but for that type of stuff, there’s facebook. For woodworking and woodworking-like substances, there’s lumberjocks. It shouldn’t be too hard to figure out which is which.

It’s a different kind of social thing.

This forum like other ones has a blog or lobby where any subject other than politics and religion can be discussed. There are many non active woodworkers and many active ones who use these forums not only to keep up with things to do with woodwork, but as a social meeting place and many friendships are formed this way.
For members who are only interested in things to do with WOOD, may I respectfully suggest that they give the blog section a miss.
