Figured I would introduce myself. I am a brand new father, IT project manager, and general do-it-yourselfer.

I am new to woodworking (kind of). I have fond memories of fixing stuff around the farm with my Grandfather. But none of that was fine wood working. I got the itch to build a few years ago while making outdoor games for charity auctions and friends. Over the past couple of years I have gradually built up my tool portfolio. So far everything I have built is made from sheet goods and pocket holes. I want to graduate to solid wood, biscuits, box joints and dove tails. I am currently finishing 2 projects. The first is a hanging Cabinet prototype for my garage. The second is a changing station / pad holder for our first child. This is taking way too much time. Should have been done before he was born but I put way too much time into his nursery. I will add pictures once I figure out how to get them posted from photo bucket.

Once the Changing station is done my next project will be a router table.

Welcome to Ljs’. I’ve been known to dabble in the IT world myself.

Lots of good stuff here.

Congratulations on becoming a new father and role model, it’s a big job and unlike woodworking, it comes without a Handbook.

I’ve often said one should be alowed to be a Grandpa first, as it’s a better entry level position.
