hey need some input on an up and coming project. Ill be using mahogany for the top of work bench and am planning on wrapping it in hard maple and also using maple for the base. the mahogany is crazy hard but tends to give lots of splinters if the edges rant rounded. Am i about to wast some good mahogany??

Just got some red wood from the mother in law. It’s 3 inches thick 8-12 inches wide and 6-10 feet long. Here is probably a good 30 feet of board. I was goin to use it for an adorondak bench but wondered if I should sell it, and if so for how much?

got some Brazialian Cherry and am getting ready to assemble and then finish….. the wood is very hard and seems like it may be oily??? do i need to prep the wood? Im planning on useing Waterlox or danish oil. is there a better finnish? all thoughts welcome thanks

i will be surfacing some curly maple for a project and have a 13’’ dewalt planer. i have heard about wetting down the board before running it through the planer, taking shallow cuts and I just changed the knives out. are there any other tips out there to prevent tearout?
