Waterlox / Air Bubbles - 1 reply
Last night I applied the fifth coat of Waterlox on a walnut bathroom countertop that I am building / finishing. I have applied the Waterlox per the instructions using a natural bristle brush and I did not shake the can in the process – if anything I may have smoothly rotated it. When I checked the backsplash this afternoon I noticed a nu...

Porter Cable 557 Biscuit Joiner - 19 replies
For those of you who have a Porter Cable biscuit joiner (model 557), would you recommend getting it just with the 4” blade or also with the 2-1/2” blade? The reason I ask is because if I purchase it new…it only comes with the larger blade. If I purchase it reconditioned it comes with both blades. Thanks.

I have an application where my Kreg pocket hole system will not work because I need to join to pieces of wood cut at a 45 degree angle – I do not want end grain showing. There are two ways I can accomplish this is either purchase a biscuit joiner (looking at the Porter-Cable 557) or a biscuit cutter set for my router. Any thoughts? If...
