In need of a new TV stand for a flat panel. Currently I have a BIG MDF cabinet form Target. I have created a 3D drawing (as I usually do before any wood buying/cutting) that I have attached. Wood is going to be Cherry 5/4 for top and bottom with 4/4 frames for the paneled sides, doors and drawers. Will include a cooling fan in the component cabinet as well as a power strip and arched cut shelf backs for cable running. Cherry veneered plywood for panel inserts. Glass inserts for the two doors with wood cross grids. All joints are mortise and tenon and dovetail drawers. Here are the 3D graphics#

You created a 3D drawing? Well, let’s see it!

Brian, I agree with Todd. It would be intesting to see your drawing. Cherry is such as gorgeous wood to work with. I am sure it will be a big change from the “store bought” one that you have now!!

OK, I do not get this site. I wanted to place this on my Projects page, but it appeared that that was for FINISHED projects. Hmmm. I can’t have a project I am working on? SO I used the Blog apparently and on that page, I cannot add pics without using links. So I used a picasa link. It seems that does not work since no one can see my 3D CAD drawing. This is very frustrating. What is more frustrating is when I go to my Projects page, why is there not an “Add New Project” button right there? In the few days I have used this site, I find I cannot simply do anything “simple”. I have to click here, click there trying to find what I am attempting to post. Just like my shop posting. Everyone wanted to see pics of the shop and I understand that, but that was the only intuitive page that had “add pics” buttons.
Can someone point me in the right direction? My day job is IT so I am feeling a little stupid here and I shouldn’t.

Hey Brian, if you want to post a photo in your blog from a photo site, just put quotation marks at the beginning and end of the link. If you click on the preview button near the heading on the right of your window you will see how the photo will look in you posted blog.
When you are posting a project you can post 6 photos/pictures directly from you own computer picture files. Just select upload and it will open your picture files and you can then select a picture which will then automatically upload to your new project.
When you want to post a project or a blog or forum just click on the main related heading, not in your home page, and there will appear an option to post something on the left hand side of the screen.
Welcome to LJ. The greatest thing about this site is the members. They are positive, helpful and friendly. I don’t think you will find a better group of people anywhere. I hope you enjoy yourself here as much as I do.
