“Mmmm…Mediciny!” – Homer Simpson

I have recently discovered that Altoid mint tins serve as excellent storage containers for small shop hardware. They are compact, easy to store, and snap tightly closed.

And, like the taller cigar boxes in which they fit, the tins are fully HTOZ compliant.

Of course, in order to have a satisfactory supply of the tins on hand, the immense amounts of the Altoids mints themselves must be dealt with first.

No problem!

These get relocated to another larger tin box and kept on a shelf in the shop, ready for consumption.

They are not only delicious, but they keep the geek’s breath nice and fresh while working in the shop!

Great idea! I used to use the empty tins for small parts in the computer tech end of my business. Lately I haven’t been buying them, because…well, I just forget to. Thanks for reminding me I need to buy another case. I’m sure my breath could use the help, too. :D

Since I don’t smoke and never seem to run into discarded cigar boxes, I think a woodworking project to hold the tins is in order. Hmmm…

If you have a tobacco store nearby, they usually sell empty cigar boxes for very cheap.
