My dear wife is often puzzled by many of the items that have shown up in the handsawgeek workshop ever since the hand tool craze took over.
The latest of these items to momentarily pique her interest was a little wooden contraption clamped into the bench vise with little piles of sawdust on and around it.
“What is that thing for?”
“This, my Sweet, is a fret table. It’s the hand tool version of your scrollsaw.”
I proceeded to pick up a nearby coping saw and piece of scrap wood, pulled up the saw bench to sit on, and show her how it all worked.
She walked back to her area of the shop and fired up the scrollsaw……
