So just a few words about me. I usually let my projects do my talking. I got into woodworking as a necessity. Married very young in life with very little money and three young children. I found making furniture for my children very rewarding. The skills came eazy it was the tools that were expensive and hard to justify. Consequently I bought a lot of second hand stuff. But that was ok, It was a great learning experience. And not once did my wife ever say we can't afford that. What a great woman, I still have her to this day. So lets fast forward a few years [quite a few] and a few hundred projects later to the present. I'm a semi retired heavy duty mechanic. I have a 500 sq. ft. shop and this woodworking thing is an obsession. I spend most of my winter time in my shop and summer days on the golf course. My children are all grown up and married and have blessed my wife and I with five beautiful grand children. So its started all over again. Making furniture for my grand children. Life has blessed me in so many ways. Anyway, back to more interesting stuff. I would characterize myself as avid amateur/semi professional. I do commission work about four times a year. I do a lot of gifts But mostly I make things for my famely. As i'm sure many of the people here will attest that there is no greater pleasure than to give someone a gift that you made with your own hands. I believe this woodworking hobby we all have is about the most popular thing going. Iv'e met many interesting people through this and I invite all to contact me for a good exchange of ideas or to just chat. I can be reached at jdjk@telus.net sincerely Denis [grumpy749] Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That's why it is called '' the present''...... Pink.
