Man wins birdhouse building competition

Bob Putman of Verbena recently won a birdhouse building contest through the website,

The site is sort of a showcase for woodworking. Putman’s birdhouse beat out more than 50 entries from across the country.

Bob Putman and his award-winning birdhouse.

The house is built from five different types of wood, pecan red cedar, walnut, dogwood and antique Southern heart pine.

For more about Putman’s house and his woodworking skills, look for our October issue of Peach Living magazine, available later this month across Chilton County.

Wow !!!!!

I can’t wait to see the full article, and more pictures. THAT it the most incredible birdhouse I have EVER seen.

If I were Robert Putman, I would use an online reservations website. Fall is coming, and … when the snowbirds start flying South … you’re going to be ALL booked up !!!

Fantastic work, Sir. Keep it coming !!!!

Gees Grizz, makes me warm and fuzzy to know a guy who is famous, and a nice guy at that….......(-:

Been watching what I think are pygmy nuthatches flitting among our trees here in La Conner. They must slow down sometime, at least to have babies, but I haven’t seen them stop moving. Bet they would like your bird hotel for a honeymoon….

We have been here a week, not a cloud seen the whole time, high temp has been 69 to 76, cools way down at night. Swear it is paradise. My youngest daughter left here this morning heading out for a bunch of interviews, it was great visiting with her, and a great surprise courtesy of Sherie….......

Going home on Saturday, gonna be rough… wanna go instead of me Grizz?...I could send you the tickets…..(-:

i want to thank all of you for your kind words , ive been on lumber jocks over 2 years now, and its been one of the best things for my life since that day, ive made such wonderful friends here, and it and you have encouraged me to be a better wood worker…your work has inspired mine and i thank you all…ya know its not so much having my picture in the paper as it would be really nice if i was able to find folks who wanted to buy my wood work or if i could get more commissions, so i could do better at taking care of my a lot of you know finances are tight these days, and just being successful at my wood work would mean more to me then a picture in the paper…but again i thank you all…grizz
