One man’s junk is another man’s table saw dust-collector. I repurposed an aluminum flexible expandable collator/sorter file holder to make this dc hood. This set up works well if like me you have a low ceiling (less than 8 foot) It is effective at removing the dust thrown from the blade and pushes up easily. This is not a blade guard; it is only an over-blade dust pick up. I, like Norm have removed my blade guard for “demonstration purposes only” (right). You should always use your guard. One day they will make a blade guard that has a 4” port. FYI to saw companies- small diameter dust ports reduce CFM

Nice set-up and nice shop…........ how is that dust shroud around your miter saw working out?

“One day they will make a blade guard that has a 4” port.”

SharkGuard has one …..........

They do make blade guards with 4” dust ports… The Shark Guard that Lee Styron builds is a good example… I own one, and love it! Check out the list of saws that the SG is available for! He also builds the 4” port overarm guard covers called the “Whale Shark” which might suit your needs better…

gpastor, Great idea on re-purposing. What fence are you running? It looks like a biesemeyer clone. Looking for an upgrade for my 80 model craftsman TS.
