I used 1/4 inch zinc u-channel for the perimeter and 3/8 inch lead came (flat h style) for everything else. I initially tried the came in zinc and ruined it! For me, the zinc came was very hard to work with and looked awful. Conversely, the lead cut and soldered easily. After initial layout on a square jig, I cut the glass, soldered into place, and then applied black cement glazing. Everything is then cleaned off with a liberal dose of whiting powder which is worked in with a stiff brush. Unfortunately I ran out of came so I couldn’t finish the other door.

Great looking project. I like the style and proportions, so the leaded glass is icing on the cake.

This is a very nice looking project. There is some significant “wow” factor here.
