I’m making a quick manger for our church out of scrap lumber. Found a piece of douglas fir from an old bed about 40 years old, cut it for a lap joint. Update: What is this blotched look? - 4 replies
I ran into a problem and hope someone can help me with this. I stripped a conference table using stripper and then lightly sanded the surface. I noticed a strange blotchy look. I thought maybe it wouldn’t show if I stained it but it was obvious the blotch was there. Stripped it again and sanded but it still remains.

Waterproof wood filler - 1 reply
I usually use Timbermate wood filler for a lot of projects and I used it to fill some screw holes that are out doors. After some recent rains I noticed there were all these lumps forming under the paint. So I scraped the paint off and the Timbermate had turned into a mushy mess. Any recommendations for a water proof wood filler? Any oil base...
