Homemade Air filter

I made an air filter using a series of filters and then also a fan from an AC unit. Below are two pictures of it and more on how I made it.

Very nice. these make a difference. I have several in my shop and was fortunate enough to have someone give me 10 squirrel cage motors….definitely have a few spare motors…!
What are the white small filters that are band clamped?

Greg, I believe those are the filter like used in purchased air filters. The prefilter is a large flat one like we use in an air handler/furnace and the bags catch the fine dust. These can be purchased as replacement filters for commercial branded air filters.

Hey Greg -

I just noticed you question. “Grandpa” is correct. They are filter socks that are used in the chemical industry. They are use for some particulate dust streams. I do not know what the filtration rating is.
