I when to my Vascular surgeon today. He said that there were three options that he told me about, and which one did I wish to pursue? I will tell you the one that I chose, My answer to him was, which ever is the best to give me a chance to go back to work. I have not been able to work in over seven years. It is the first one that he gave me. we are going to try a medication for eight weeks. If that doesn’t work? well, the remaining options do not look that great. So I will not go into them at this time. I feel that they will not be needed. I have that much faith.
He did say, that he was going to try everything that he could, to keep me from losing my legs.
Again, please do not feel sorry for me! My problems are few and god and the prayers that you are saying for me, have everything working out for me at this time. Please continue to hold me in your thoughts. I feel like a new man, Just in an old body. (LOL). I am sure that things will continue to go well with you continued help. May God bless each and everyone of you, my friends.
A futher update when things change.

Hi Gene, yup those prayers will be continued. Bad circulation can cause a multitude of problems that is for sure. But you are right on top of things so that is the best defense for fighting back. I think most of us would give the medication a try but I can only imagine what the other solutions are. Probably not so great. You have a lot of projects to do and to let us know about them, so get better really quick. God Bless and in the meantime we will all keep up the prayers. Bye Buddy.

Gene you already have the best medicine you can get… A positive attitude. You will get better, it’s just a matter of finding the right treatment and getting on with it. My daughter just went through major surgery, as you’ve heard, and they about cut the poor thing in half and removed half her liver. What simply amazed me was her attitude. Yes, she had, God only knows, how many tubes and stuff sticking out of her after, but she never doubted and knew she was going to get better. And…she did, she recovered very quickly…ah but to young again…lol But it was her attitude that impressed me so. You hear stories all the time of people beating the odds with attitude…like Lance Armstrong. And besides, we’re all rooting for you too. And keeping your shop is a great idea too, every time you look out there…what better motivation for a woodworker…lol Keep your head up and it will all be well.

Gene, even though I’ve fairly new to LJ.com and don’t think I’ve corresponded with you yet, please know that I also will keep you in my thoughts, but especially in my prayers for your health. Having had 5 abdominal surguries over my adult life and a fairly significant blood clot in one leg, I realize it’s so easy for us to take our health for granted when we have it. It is such a precious gift. But like others have said, you seem to have a really good attitude. That and your faith in God are a hard combination to beat!
Keep us posted on how you’re doing.

Gene, keep this in mind…. Keeping your positive attitude throughout the journey to recovery is a blessing to you and everyone around you. Now all you need is a GOAL. I’d suggest getting well enough soon enough to be able to make some more sawdust. I can hear your tools talking to themselves now.. “Gene’s coming back,,,, he’s coming back.. WOOHOOO!”. See they are excited about your recovery too. Keep the faith.

Thanks to everyone! I feel the presence! I feel renewed! I feel the power! I feel sure that those of you that have me in your prayers, feel it also! God bless you and your families!
I will keep you posted as to my progress. I just started the medication today and I am planing on a vast improvement in a week or so. I have that much faith in the way things seem to be progressing now. I do not plan on having to try out options two or three. I don’t really believe someone, has them listed in his plans for me. Isn’t his love grand?
