I ran across this site and had to share with my friends here at LJ’s. You may find a used piece of equipment or tool that you have been wanting here. It is public government surplus auction site that can be broken down by each state. Check on your state and then click browse, It will compile a list of the auctions going on in your state and local government. Hope this helps someone looking for that special bargain.

Gene,
Have you checked out Industrial recovery services http://www.irsauctions.com/ or http://Exfactory.com .
These are the sites I keep my eye for tools. They both are national auction houses so you have to be wary of location, but you can get a decent deal on shipping through http://freightquote.com (its like travelocity for freight)

In San Diego auction closing in 36 hrs is two delta table saws 3 phase 220 volts and a Yates American spindle sander. all in the $100.00 range
And in Michigan a whole school shop (all tools) 20 planer 12” jointer edge sander. They are doing construction so all tools are going. current bids $50.00

An auction having old woodworking tools for sale is all well and good, but it would take a lot of time to get some of those machines in good working order. And besides, where would a guy find replacement parts for those items that were missing?
I would like to purchase a bandsaw, and a better jointer – but it seems like a daunting prospect to refurbish old equipment. I admire those who rebuild old equipment, but do not know if I would like to do it myself.
