This box is made from recycled Cherry. I set a 3” Incra t-ruler in the picture to give an idea of size.

Hi. My name is gbvinc and I am a LumberJocks addict.

For therapy, Martin turned off the website in our neck of the woods for two whole days and made me build recipe boxes. This is one of them. Maybe after I have successfully completed therapy, I can give it away as a birthday gift to my sister-in-law. This one is made from recycled Cherry wood, recovered from her grandmother’s table, and Walnut. It is pieced together with box joints. It is coated with Watco Natural Danish oil.

I have never made a bandsaw box before, so this was an interesting little project. Now that I figured out how to make them I will need to try one as elaborate as I have see here on LumberJocks.

A little (6”x6”) box to hold some Christmas goodies we are shipping to one of our daughters and her hubby. He is in the Navy, which makes it difficult to send larger presents, so I made this to fill with chocolate and gift cards and send their way.

The box is made with an Ambrosia lid and a Walnut handle, Walnut sides using box joints, and a scrap piece of I-don’t-know-what for the bottom.
