I am just getting ready to start my first “big” project on (with a little help from my dad and uncle). My wife has wanted a king size bed for a while, so I thought that I would make one. I found a good set plans, and have already purchased my rough sawn cherry. I’m just starting out and am limited on my tools, thats where Dad and my uncle come in, as they have most every thing that I might need to borrow for a while. I’m going to use my uncle’s planer and jointer this coming week to size it all up.
After I get this bed done I have a few small projects that the boss (wife) wants done, as well as a few things I want as well. After these are all done, I am wondering what other projects would be good start out on, suggestions please. I have thought about restoring an old wooden boat that is in the garage, but dont know how hard that might be, or if i need to think smaller yet. I am just not wanting to run out of things to do through the fall and winter, as I have raised hogs for quite a while and was always busy with that, but now I have sold the sows and just looking for something to keep me busy and my mind engaged.

Welcome to LJ!
You might look at the project “tag” for boats to see what others here on LJ have done, or just click here: (Boats)
Also take a look at projects of other LJs on this site. I’m sure there are countless other project ideas that you might find appealing.
