Here we go again …Its all about the wood. I love to look at the wood …and it is such great practice for me on my bandsaw and sander ….

That lil known Americano wood Maple …

So don’t stick a fork in me …I don’t think I am done yet ..
Oh yeah one of these days …I might make a cutting board ….hmmmmmm

I had a couple hours yesterday …..and my garage was whining about being tooo clean …as was my bandsaw and Ridgid Oscillating sander ….
So I whipped these out …..3new Letter Openers ….THANKS again to Gary K…for turning me on to letter openers …

Lacewood the light colored one

Unknown Red exotic wood …found along side the road. Discarded by a trucking company. Probably was pallets at one time …I got a nice stack of about 10 boards various lengths and widths…But it is unknown to me what it is ..I will start a Blog on the possiblities of identifying this exotic wood .How do I know it is exotic …the smell is exotic…
all suggestions as to the identity of the exotic Red Wood …please don’t be shy …

....A quilt rack of Alder w/ Walnut veneer, is finally finished. This was a real test of my bandsawing of curves. The legs are connected with dowels, biscuits and titebond 3.
I think she will like it ..

I went to the Sacramento area to stay with my Sis and her hubby cause he got a new JessEm router Table with all the bells and whistles …A beautiful rig ….and so this is what we came up with on his tools in his shop and so voila …its a little thing but looks ok..I had to hand carry it on the plane …lol

This was the first coat of primer.
Then the final paint job …

I hope you dont mind Gary …But i needed a letter opener …so here is what i came up with ….i used Cherry.

and now the whole fam wants them …They seemed to think i should sell them on EBay ..but then i would have to give you part of my winnings and not that i dont want to do that ..but i just retired ..who needs another job …anyway this is the next one …

and this one is made of well i had to go to the wood store today and saw some Rosewood looked just like this. so I guess it is Mexicali Rosewood …

my next project i will try to show some imagination and think up my own subject….
