Grizzly G1036 slow speed grinder are Rikon 80-805 ssg - 3 replies

Can’t wait to start turning wood for the 1st time, the guy I bought the lathe from said I will need a slow speed grinder for gouges etc. So I am looking at these 2 slow speed grinders.Anyone familiar with these grinders likes & dislikes would be much appreciated.Thx ev1

I recently discovered a couple of old hand saws my dad left me. They must have been my grandfathers because he did carpentry work. One is a H.Disston & Sons rip saw with thumb hole the other is a Richardson Bros. saw.They’re used up pretty good, i put brasso polish on them so i could make out the brand names,and paste wax to bring back...

Is it wrong to replace a american made ts motor with a foreign one? I need to replace a motor on my vintage table saw because the pulley shaft is bent and there is just too much vibration. Has anyone had good luck with chinese are twainese motors they are 1/2 the cost of a repair are replacement motor.

I am making a splitter for ts, does the splitter have to be the thickness of the blade? Splitter material is 1/32 in thicker then blade.

Installed new machined pulleys on vintage craftsman table saw. I noticed the motor shaft is not running true, maybe it’s time to retire it after 62yrs. Has anyone replaced one of these? Should i save up for new motor instead? maybe more POWER! any good deals on the web? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
