I am a recent convert to using hand tools almost exclusively. My uncle got me into using hand tools, specifically hand planes, moulder, rabbets and the like instead of their power tool counter parts. In the beginning, I thought he was turning into a crazy old man, well, more crazy than usual. Through him I caught the hand tool bug. I am 22 years old and I am now obsessed with using planes, braces, hand saws and the like instead of using the power tools that I would normally turn to. So, since I "converted" I have acquired a few tools that are my new favorite toys. I have a Stanley block plane, Sargent Jack plane, Stanley 71 router plane, Craftsman rabbet plane, an old woody, skewed rabbet plane. My newest, and my particular favorite, addition is my Stanley No. 45 Combination plane.

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.
To get the most feedback on your projects, it’s best to only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.
Please enjoy your membership.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…
Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
