So here it is… Everything is nestled on one side of our three car garage.
With the limited space it is essential that most of my tools are mobile. The table saw came with the hercu-lift system which makes it easy to shuffle things around if need be. The planer is on a HTC mobile base and the miter saw is on a Ridgid MSUV (Miter Saw Utility Vehicle), which makes it nice and portable for those outdoor projects too. I just recently added casters to the router table and have plans to get the band saw and jointer on HTC bases as well.
So, if you haven’t figured it out by now, I’m a huge fan of Ridgid tools. When I decided I wanted to take woodworking up as a hobby, I did a lot of research on what tools offered the best bang for the buck, and time and time again I was pointed to Ridgid. I first stated off with a used TS 2400 table saw; just to see if the brand was all it was cracked up to be. Was I ever wowed, clean rips and crosscuts was all I got. When building my baby’s crib I was a little concerned about working with 3” thick rock maple, but after the first cut I was reassured that I was dealing with a saw capable of competing with saws three times its price. I’ve since replaced that saw with a newer TS 3650 and my addiction to Ridgid tools just snowballed from there. Oh not to mention the LIFE TIME warranty.
So I know some of you may be wondering why the shop looks so clean. Well, I actually just finished insulating the entire garage and figured what better time to do a little sprucing up.

You have a really nice shop. It is well organized and you have some nice tools to work with in there. I can appreciate having as many tools as you can on wheels as I have done the same thing.

Hey JC, so far the band saw has proven to be a great asset to the shop. The micro adjust blade guides give you extremely accurate tracking. The solid construction does make it tremendously heavy, but the smooth rattle free operation definitely makes up for it. I have run 6” thick oak and maple through it and the ¾ HP TEFC motor just smiles back. I’m hoping that once I add a fence I’ll get a little more use out of it.
