I'm relatively new to woodworking at least in a serious way. I've dabbled over the years with some minor projects. A couple of summers ago I built a wood fence around my side yard because I hated the look of chain link fence and couldn't afford to buy the pre-built wood panel fences. Last summer I built a couple of picnic tables and some garden benches and now I'm hooked. I had some power tools but now I bought a small table saw, a miter saw and a router and now I'm off. Next project is kitchen cabinets. More than enough of a challenge for a newbie. Will post pics when available.

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I love this site, I hope you will enjoy it to.

Good luck with those kitchen cabinets. Post some pics as you are working your way through the project.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

Wow, thanks for the warm welcome everyone. When I joined and posted a quick profile I didn’t expect any responses so quickly. I’ve been browsing the projects and blogs for about a month now and am in such awe of much of what I’ve seen here. You all have set the bar very high for which I’m really grateful. I’m not yet capable of the craftsmanship protrayed in many of your projects and I know I have many mistakes ahead to wade thru, but with practice and the inspiration and encouragement from LJ’s, I know I won’t be settling for just OK anymore. Thanks again.
