Part 1: "Providere and Expressing Imagination"

04-10-2007 at 08:01 AM by frank | 8 comments »

”Having Depth of Foresight….” ....having depth of foresight, and the ability of preparation, gives me the understanding that as i look ahead, to that which is seen….so shall my yet be’s, be! Being busy as a beaver, as I gnaw on bits and pieces of ‘wood art’, which in my mind are just as clear, as when I reach out and take hold of that piece of wood in the flesh. And so I thought that I would post another project that is now in the works. Now tha...

”Providere” ....and so i now come to an update on the progress of such a one, such as this….’my providere…. And so this story begins in the early days of our country, long before the times of Greene and Greene, (and I am meaning no disrespect here at all) when our carpenters of colonial days were fresh of the boats and in a new world. These carpenters were shipwrights who had come to the new world and now found much use for their talents in ‘the land ...

Providere ....and so this that is coming forth today, is a new beginning from the depths of all i am, and in this now of time placed artistic foray, i can see into the nature of the seed from whence i came…. —-long were the ages where i acted from the heights of golden emergence, till in the coming breathe of fall, i tumbled to the earth of dusty soil understanding wanting resurgence, and all the while my roots gave sprawl…. —-time passed me on as i began the ...

Legs of Beauty ....and so the progress goes on, in the continuing saga of this one, who is coming forth from the heart of the tree, and doing as befits her ‘being’ of becoming set free…. —-having legs of beauty as formed from within, she soon was noticed as having likened wood skin, till from the shapely posture of her bijou stance, i knew their was more here then meets first glance…. —-what i saw in her legs was sweetness of desire, and from this ...

Part 5: Providere, a Work In Process

04-20-2007 at 06:59 AM by frank | 6 comments »

Providere, a Work In Process Well I finished roughing out a shape of the last of four legs last night with the drawknife, and I thought I would post a picture of where the ‘in the process’ of Providere now stands. 1) Cherry backsplash, needs to enter into it’s hand sanding phase, starting with #120 grit….and ending with some slurpies…. 2) Table top, needs to be worked some more on sides with a timber slick to get a better trueness…. 3) End board...

Part 6: Providere's Leg Update....

04-23-2007 at 06:21 AM by frank | 5 comments »

Providere’s Leg Update…. ....and then some! Well this past week has been a busy one for me around here. Started out with a storm on Monday and then we lost power, so the sump pump in the cellar went down and the water level went up….up….and up. Time to break out the gasoline pump and start pumping, old connected cape houses (1778), old dug cellars and bad grading can sure be a problem at times in the spring. What with water run off from spring rains and mud seaso...
