”Getting Around Is Rustic”

....well there I’ve went and said it! Getting around while not going aground, while out in the woods with all my rustic inspirations just floating through my head and being able to keep on working at dropping trees or clearing trails.

I believe that I must be a dreamer and as such this dreamer must still work and produce sweat involved work images that satisfy my need of income. Ha! I think that if it was just up to me I would just go off and disappear into the woods and then there would be the tales told around camp fires of the spirit hermit who still walks the woods.

You must understand that this is what this blog post is all about, as one who walks and works in the woods according to my body of flesh, I must get around in the many ways that serve me best. I walk, run and ride around using an ATV out here in the woods. Now that way of getting around is rustic and helps to only slow me down and keep my rustic feet on the ground as bound by the rules of shoe leather and machine.

Fact is my greatest enjoyment comes when I can take a break, sit back against a tree and let my imagination go. This is when I am really free and in my ranging I can now dream-travel far and wide, as a wood spirit of which I am. See what I mean, I’m a dreamer and make no apologies for it since this just is the way it is. Oh yes, my breaks over and I must get back to work—-NOW, THAT IS RUSTIC!!!

You all have a very good day!!!

Frank, you fascinate me.

I’ve tried to read every post you put up and have also enjoyed browsing your web site.

But I’ve discovered at least two Franks. Some (most) of your writing is very poetic and at times quite obscure. I mean by that, that I need to go to a different mind-place to connect to your words. I’m never quite sure if my interpretation of your words is close to your intent or not. But I propose that that doesn’t really matter.

Then sometimes, when I read your posts, they are very clear. What you see is what you get – no hidden meanings, and no poetry. Just plain words.

Am I reading you right?

Hi Don;
I have thought about what you are asking here and what I have come up with is that you are trying to put me into one of those boxes you so love to make, that you make so well. First of all Don let me state, that I am not trying to be critical or judgemental here, but the truth ‘just is’ that you will never understand me, nor will I ever fit into a box.

One will never understand the artist and neither can they understand his work as that work of the artist is but his interpretation of what he has seen. When I create in wood that is what I see, when I create and write in words, these words are but shadows of where I am at that moment.

I like myself, I love myself just as I love//like wood and I also love//like words, however behind myself, my wood art and my words there is ‘the spirit of all in all’. You ask if there is two Frank’s and I say no, ‘just one’ and yet this one can also be as broken bread to the many, the whosoever. Some have said that man is a triune being with a body, soul and spirit and yet to my understanding man//woman is a ‘body soul’ and yet within him//her resides the soul of spirit. Just as of the two, this one spirit is the greater.

You say that sometimes I am often easy to understand and at other times I can be hard to understand by my words. Well the poet in me is the words that come out naturally in me as I write stories of words or stories in wood. In myself there is the natural rumbling-rambling words of a poetic spirit being and yet I also work, live and sell in a world where I must at times ‘make’ myself understood. This would be like saying that spirit is only matter slowed down so that it can become visible and so it is with my words. Understand that the real me is found in those poetic words, as I am much more than what one sees when they view me as an earth form. Did not one called Jesus say that; “the kingdom of God is within you” and if so, then are you not more then just an external body living in this realm of earth. I would say that to go and find ‘the kingdom of God within ones own self’ would make it sometimes hard to be understood by those who only can see a body form. To find this kingdom within is to understand that there is more then being a part of just earth, but as spirit beings we also belong to the universe or as I sometimes ask folks; “how big and how far can you see?

Well I will stop here for now and if you want to chew the fat some more then I will be only to happy to continue our conversation of dialogue, however then we may have to start a forum topic about ‘woodworkers as spiritual beings’. Ha!

Let me just add this Don, that sometimes in my poetic ramblings I come across another soul of spirit who just reads right through the words of spirit that I am saying and then we connect and this is wonderful. And then much more often I find that the connection with others is only understood, when I slow myself down and write with words of English and of the two ways of writing this is the harder for me. Two ways of writing, two ways of speaking, but there is only one me and as such is my suchness, so I am.

Have a very good day!!!
