I'm pretty much a newbie to woodworking. My interest in woodworking was awakened when I could not find a head board to match my old dresser, which my son had just inherited. I decided to try and build one myself. It turned out to be a perfect match. I'm sure some of you more accomplished woodworkers could find the differences quickly, but my wife and son loved it. My interest was spurred on even more when my then 9 year old son wanted to start doing projects together. We started doing small projects around the house together like building cornice boards. We went to the woodworking show this year and he wanted a lathe. I told him he would have to purchase it himself and start a penmaking business to pay for it. He did and now makes beautiful pens. He isn't your average 10 year old. I'm looking forward to learning from the masters on here and sharing what little I have learned.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
