I have the DW734 and it has performed pretty well. My only complaint is the knives that DeWalt supply are not the best. I have had to replace them a few times, replacement is very easy and quick. The knife holders have an index that sets the knives easily and a built in magnet to keep them inplace while they are bolted down. The main difference between the 734 and 735 is the later has a slow speed finishing speed which I hear is a very nice addition. I do not have any complaints with mine on the quality of the planed surface with nice sharp knives. I wish DeWalt knives had a little more longevity. If this is your first planer make sure you get the owners manual. If its not available from the seller I think you can obtain one form DeWalt at little or no charge…..Good luck !!

Here is the link for the DW735 manual. I also had no manual with my DW735.
Hope this is helpful.
