Retired from university library work and am enjoying my free time at age 66.
Other hobbies besides woodworking include reading (non-fiction, history, philosophy, biography), photography (after years of chemical photography I have converted entirely to digital) and audio-video. I have published two books on the latter, as well as two more dealing with record reviews, and also helped to write and edit the 2005 edition of The Encyclopedia of Recorded Sound. I have also published roughly 200 magazine articles in several audio-related journals. I spent four years in the USAF (SAC), before going to college (majoring in history, humanities, and philosophy) and ending up in the library acquisitions trade.
Used my new woodworking skills to build four different speaker systems for personal use (designed and built entirely by me) that each can compete with some of the better commercially built systems I reviewed over the years. Also have built some small furniture pieces, done some interior cosmetic work in the house, and also installed about 600 feet of extra timbering in the attic and around the perimiter of the place to better secure it against potential wind damage.
Looking forward to additional projects in the future.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless
