Is it true that Purple Heart will change color over time. I’ve even heard it will change shades of purple if put in sunlight.

Kept in sunlight, purple heart will turn brown. Use a poly finish and display or use in a non sunny location and the bright color will remain.

More specifically, a UV blocking finish is best. The marine grade ones usually block UV to varying degrees.
