Cedar Strip Canoe Build # 30 Fairing The Inside

It’s time to fair the inside of the hull. Due to the shape it is never an easy job. I have some different things to try. First is an ulu. This was given to me by a good friend. He made it using an old tablesaw blade. Actually, he made it for us to use in the kitchen. I guess my wife and I are too old to change. We just couldn’t get used to this over a regular knife. When I was making the last canoe I needed something to fair the inside curve and thought of this ulu. It matches the curve perfectly. I keep the outer edges sharp to use like a chisel.
